Bronze castings of South Korean flagpole finials are mounted on curved steel rods. While the work follows official standards for the size and material of Korean flagpole finials, elements not defined by regulation were intentionally altered. Without flags, the poles stand unused. Grouped together, the curved stems and closed finials resemble a bundle of flower buds, quietly pausing before bloom.

태극기 깃봉을 청동으로 주조하고 철제 기둥에 연결해, 꽃봉오리 다발처럼 설치했다. 국가에서 정한 깃봉 제작 규격은 충실히 따르되, 규정에 명시되지 않은 요소들은 의도적으로 변형했다. 태극기에 과도하게 부여된 상징성과 의미를 잠시 내려놓고, 피어나기 직전의 조용한 순간으로 연출하고자 했다.
